Europa League predictions for Eintracht Frankfurt vs Strasbourg
Eintracht Frankfurt host Strasbourg in a rematch from the playoffs to join Europa League teams. The match will be played on Thursday, 29 August at 19:30 UK at Commerzbank-Arena.
The first match in France was won by the home side with a minimum of 1-0 after L. Zohi’s goal in the 33rd minute, as many expectations were not met and the visitors’ lack of goal was taken as a surprise.
Strasbourg have begun their participation since the second qualifying round where they overcame Maccabi Haifa after winning 3-1 at home and losing 2-1 at Israel. In the third round, the Bulgarian Lokomotiv Plovdiv were eliminated and both games were won by the French with 1:0 but they did not impress especially in the first match in which the Bulgarians played almost 80 minutes with a man less but did not allow more than one goal in their door.
The French Championship has also started, but Strasbourg is performing poorly after starting two straight draws 1-1 at home against Metz and 0-0 away from Reims, and over the weekend lost to Stade de la Meinau by Rennes 2-0 and there are only 2 points after the first 3 rounds.
Eintracht also started from the second qualifying round by beating 2:1 Flora in their two games against them, and in the third round they eliminated Vaduz by defeating them at Rheinpark Stadion 5-0 and at home winning with a minimum of 1-0. Only two rounds have elapsed since the start of the German Championship, with A. Hütter beating Hoffenheim 1-0 in the first, and losing RB Leipzig 2-1 in the second.
Despite losing in the first match, Eintracht Frankfurt remain a slight favorite to continue to the Europa League group stage, with even the Strasbourg away having a home run they have the class to win this clash with more than one goal difference.
