Football tips predict for Iceland vs France
Iceland face France in the Group H Group 7 match of EC Qualification. The match will be played on Friday, 11 October at 19:45 UK at Laugardalsvöllur.
Iceland managed to fall behind Turkey and France after losing 4-0 to Albania in their last match, leaving behind with 12 points behind 3 of the top two European 2020 eligibility leaders. Before the defeat, they were in a series of 3 consecutive victories – 1-0 just over Albania, 2-1 against Turkey and 3-0 against Moldova, but they were all at home. In their second visit to the group so far, players led by Swedish specialist Erik Hamrén have lost 4-0 to France.
The France squad hardly expected such a heavy group and that after playing six matches it would not be the leader in the standings. Iceland’s upcoming visit in the event of a loss could send them outside the top 2, which is certainly not part of Didier Deschamps’ plans, but we should not forget that Les Bleus failed just away from home in a 2-0 loss to Turkey. Now, however, they will try at all costs to prevent defeat by having a much more class composition than their rival.
Iceland are up against the wall and anything but winning this match will put them away from the Euro 2020 standings, even if they do not even work, given the few matches that remain to be played until the end of qualifying. I am not hiring to predict if they will be able to beat France, but I think they will come out very cautiously and will try to prevent them from hitting their neck for as long as possible and then seek victory by betting on Under 2.5 goals.
